An Aussie satire but scarily true considering recent events in the Gulf of Mexico... the guy sounds just like a typical politician trying to explain the situation!

LOL, too funny.

Ah ... Fred Dagg!! His real name is John Clarke and he's a Kiwi. Many, many years ago (in the 70's) he created 'Fred Dagg' ... a NZ farmer who's every mate was called 'Trev.' His catch cry was "Kick it in the guts Trev" ... I remember as kids we used to call each other Trev because of him, and you'll still hear people over there tell someone to start the car, mower or even a cd player by saying "Kick it in the guts Trev!"
He made an album back then, his very first, and called it 'Fred Dagg's Greatest Hits' It had a song on it called 'If it weren't for your Gumboots' that was HUGE! The record is still listed as one of the all time best sellers in that country.
What you just saw in that vid though was much later, in the 90's, and he and Brian Dawe (the interviewer) did these interviews each week for a program called 'A Current Affair' which was a serious current affair show. They'd rip off some politician's stupid comment each week and the appeal was they didn't try to imitate the politician ... they just simply assumed their names and did the interview in the vane you just saw. Very amusing at times.
