    Default 4/20 Day

Today is 4/20 day and they are having a get together for it. It is for Cannabis Culture and will be held at Dundas Square starting at 2:00 PM and going until at least past 4:20 PM when there will be a big smoke in. I will be attending but not for 2pm but should be there for around 3pm. If anyone here is planning to attend let me know, I may take some photos while I am there.

Also do not forget at Queens Park on May 1st 2010 the Toronto Freedom Festival ( A Pro Cannabis Event) is holding its 4th annual festival. They expect 30,000 people for the May 5th event. TFF website for the days activities.

Well I go for the photo opportunities but have been a very long time smoker and will probably be a smoker all my life. Rather a puff then a drink. And A strong advocate of Legalization of it.

I personally don't have an issue with legalization of pot also...I mean it is used medicinally as a proven effective treatment for the side effects of cancer treatment and as a chronic pain reliever in many disease conditions...
It just makes me way too paranoid and it also makes me crave cigarettes and smoking is just something I would never like to do again in this lifetime.

I do not advocate it for everyone, I think like anything some people just do not like it or enjoy for a myriad of reasons. I dislike alcohol because I hate how it makes me feel, so I don't drink so I assume the same would be true for marijuana. I just think it should be legal and taxed and we could use our law enforcement for real crimes and add more money to our tax coffers by regulating the sale of it.

May 1st is the March and then the Festival at Queens Park. They have bands and a lot of other fun things going on that day. I cannot do the march this year, cannot walk that far so if I go it will be just to hang and see bands at Queens Park. Also for photographers even if you are not a smoker may be a good opportunity to get some photos. Depending on what time my opening is that night I may even have to pass on it this year, would like to go even for a few hours though.

I don't care if you smoke pot or not, just don't do it in my apartment building or my personal space. Really. My building went non-smoking one year ago and I still have to fight with people due to complaints about pot smoking in particular, in the building. It stinks up the whole building, people with allergies to smoke get sick, non allergic people complain of headaches and not being able to sleep. My birds have an episode of feather plucking due to it. (Birds have very sensitive respiratory systems and any enviromental pollutants will make them sick). I get congested and find it hard to breathe because of it and I do not have a respiratory problem. In a day and age when smoking tobacco and other enviromental pollutants such as perfumes are less and less tolerated, I doubt that smoking pot is going to be welcomed with open arms.

Exactly how I feel about it AL. I prefer a glass of wine over anything....lol even beer. And you are right...I'll bet there would be some cool street and character type photo opportunities there also whether you partake or not.
