What makes a picture fine art? I googled this and an example of Ansel Adams was used. This i get. A picture taken to express the artist's vision. Adams took pictures of the park to convey his vision of the park in all it's glory for preservation's sake. However, what I don't get is looking through the photography fine art medium of some artists work. For example a water spigot on the outside of a house. A picture taken of two parralell painted colours ( orange and blue). I don't get it! For me art is something that makes the viewer contemplate the artist's vision and provide discussion, or convey a message. However these examples don't do anything but confuse me. Who decides what is fine art and what is not?
