I've been digging into this area myself, it's one of the projects for my computer controlled camera head. People are now combining time-lapse with camera moves and it is cool.

That's really fine work. I have all kinds of questions about the frame rate, and how the transitions were done. I assume the camera and the motor drive were tethered to a computer.

Also, that sure would be a lot shutter snaps to use up - several thousand an hour I would think.

It's lots of work and those guys are good, I'm just starting to learn how to do it. It's very important to have a rigid setup and when you work with panning smooth motion is very important. Yes everything is computer/microprocessor controlled, OpenMoco is some software that is being developed for this. It's not for the impatient.

Frame rate is all how fast you want to speed up time, join Timescapes for a source of good information. So much to learn and so few dollars in the wallet

Thanks for posting the link, MAW. Having spent some time in Vancouver, it is a beautiful city and the photography definitely does it justice. The depth of the captures is astonishing and so life like in HD. Are all those cloud shots when it is raining?
