I think so...I have the pro account and I don't think it's much money.

Same ... not too much to pay for unlimited space and Flickr is simple and easy to use.

Me too! I hummed and hawed too but I like being part of the community and it gives me a place to show my stuff.

I have a flickr, I'm not to fond of the presentation, I've recently started using Zenfolio. I like the presentation a lot better. It is pricier than flickr though but I can control access to my photos. The biggest benefit is that people don't have to be members to have access to my secured photo's unlike facebook or flickr.

I like flickr because it's fairly easy to use and very popular. I used to have a pro account but I'm not posting that much these days so I let it fade.

The price seems reasonable for a pro account.

But I agree, the presentation sucks and thousands of people have told them so. They are making a mistake and are losing $ by not giving the people what they want.

The other positive for flickr is their API and the wide availability of sites and applications which can interact and display images from flickr.
These are a couple I use.
Fluidr / ~AntZ~'s photos and videosWwhich I use daily to browse and comment on my contact photos in a larger size than the thumbnails flickr has
BigHugeLabs: Do fun stuff with your photos Which has some free and not so free cool stuff you can do with your images.
Stream by Darckr For presenting images on Black
Flickriver: ~AntZ~'s most interesting photos Which I also mainly use for viewing images on Black, but it also allows viewing groups and Explore as streams in larger sizes.

I decide to go pro just this year, as I was approaching the 200 image limit. Now I can have more sets, upload as much as I like, but I am also kind of committed to signing up for ever more. The community is also very cool. Some times a little 'too nice' and less critical than say this forum, which does not necessarily push your photography.

Yeah, there are lots of other services such as SmugMug, Picasa Web Albums, Photobucket, deviantArt, and more. What I found when I was looking around though is that if you want your stuff seen Flickr is where the people are.

I think the cost if reasonable, I had a free pro account for the last 6 or 7 years but when I had to start paying for it I let it slide. I only use it to post photos here and as you can see I don't post a lot so I just have no need for the pro version but you seem to use it and it seems like for the small yearly fee at least for now you would get your money's worth.
