dude. my heart about thumped out of my chest!!! i too lost my first slr that way... bam - onto the pavement - twice... the 2nd hit did it in... then, i had no camera for many years....

i am sooooooooooooooooo happy that you could figure out how to make it better!!!! that is awesome - maybe a side career as a camera repairman???

These were taken about 3 hours after I disassembled the camera and put it back together.

So the camera seems to work ok. There is no autofocus, this feature is dead. Everything else seems to work ok though. The K10d still survives

This has been a rough first year for the camera. During its life, it has been dropped out of the car(jeep) on a couple occasions. It has also jumped out of a golf cart and onto the cart path on a couple occasions. I have personally fallen while walking, submitting my camera to puddles of water and mud. This most recent occasion was the most devastating. A 5ft free fall onto the frozen asphalt was a death blow. I must say though, my K110d has been through the same treatment and they have both come through relatively unscathed. The weather sealing, and sturdy build of the cameras has definitely made me a believer. Ive owned the K10d for about a year now, and the K110d for roughly 4 years. Hopefully they will stick around for a while longer and I dont need to buy another one. If I do though, the K7 seems like its going to be the winner.
