Wink look at the sexy gift my husband gave me!

first the anticipation of opening the box:

    *sigh* isn't it beautiful?

I've downloaded the complete works of Jane Austin, a Stephen King novel, Jane eyre, Wuthering Heights and a Tale of Two Cities.

This is so perfect. I travel a lot and trying to pack the right number of books is almost impossible. this is the size of a readers digest mag!

So far so good. I have been reading on it both in the car and before going to sleep and it feels much like reading a book. I read A LOT! I also found out I can download books from the library for free.

I first heard about the kiindle but it wasn't liscenced for Canada and further research brought me to the Sony. I like how it connects to the store to purchase if you like. I haven't figured it all out yet but so far two thumbs up

    Reading while driving is dangerous

Leanne has done some research and has found that the Sony is far more versatile as it caters for more file formats including things like mp3 and pdf.

What's the screen like? It's supposed to be easy to read due to the paper like appearance that stop glare like our normal pc monitors.

silly man. I wasn't driving!!! I let Ed do that :P

I agree although I haven't checked out the sound quality of the MP3 player. Oh, here's an idea: If Marko's podcast transcrips are on PDF then I could have both the audio and visual.... !

Anyway, I find that there is no glare and it's easy to read. However, in low light it's not so great. My mom bought me a cover with a light imbedded in it that works very well though in those conditions.

Leanne had read something about that low light issue. Maybe the next version will address that problem.
