    Default Death wish!!!

My room mate wrapped up chicken legs in Saran Wrap and placed them on the top shelf in the fridge and not on a plate. Needless to say, chicken blood has dripped down over a lot of food underneath. I've mentioned this to her before and she denies it's a problem because it's wrapped in plastic. Where I come from this is a huge deal. Am I worrying to much here? Am I making a mountain out of a Molehill?

seriously, how hard is it to put it in a dish???

I agree with Marko. Print out the wikipedia article and stick it on the fridge.

are you subletting or are you both equally on the lease? If you are subletting you could always use the 'my house, my rules' approach, because the truth is she doesn't have to agree with you, she just has to do it!

    good luck

I'm done with it...I've cleaned the fridge far to many times for the same reason. I've thrown out my stuff that was in the are and secured my other food. I decided to leave the whole sordid mess as it is. I can't babysit this person forever! I'll mention when she comes home the dangers of storing chicken that way (For the Nth time), then she can deal with it. 90% of my grub is in the freezer, fresh stuff I generally buy as I need as we're a short walk from the market. So I lost my milk and some leftovers. It just pisses me off when I repeatedly tell her the danger and she just ignores me

Speaking as a Professional Chef here, if a health inspector saw that at a restaurant, they would have the right to shut them down....immediately...do not pass Go...do not collect $200. And at the very least, they absolutely would make them remove every piece of food that the chicken was over top of and throw it out....while they watched.
Ask her if she knew that this happened in a restaurant, and she got a plate of food knowing that it had raw chicken drippings on it would she still eat there?

Most times when people think they have a 24 hour flue bug it is food poisoning in a mild form. Chicken is bad news.
