I spent today in Halifax at meetings. I left at 4 to head home (normally takes about 1 hour 15 minutes). As I'm heading home husband calls to say it's started to snow. no worries I'm on my way. I drop my friend off at the car pool lot part way home. 3 minutes later I hit a wall of white! visibility was about 15 feet.
The rest of the drive was spent crawling home with a bunch of other vehicles. cursing that I didn't think to take the SUV with 4wd and studded tires. No, I'm in the focus wagon.
couldn't see the edge of the road or where the line was dividing the direction of traffic. A big truck in front that I'm trying to NOT tailgate except that the speed kept changing requiring me to brake (which is not good on icy roads). Part of the way had some moron on my a$$ because he wanted to pass and I wouldn't get out of the way. Finally came to my exit except that I can't actually see the off-ramp.
let me tell you driving by feel is NOT fun.
final drive took 2 hours. felt like 10.
So to console myself I had a drink (going to have another one soon) and did this:
This is an artificial tree (real one will be bought when daughter comes home from university). I use it for my old hand painted glass ornaments that I've collected over the years. I also add to it with treasures I find here and there.
here's a close up of the tree skirt I made:
