Default Any Calgarians up for a photo day trip in the New Year?

Just thought I would put it out there...maybe we can get a group together and go somewhere for the better part of a day...might be great to meet up and learn from each other.
    Any thoughts?
We can talk about it at my place when we do the photo swap draw.

I'm thinking Big Hill Springs Park perhaps...great spot. But if anyone has any other ideas we can submit here or share at my place.

That's a great idea Casil. Someone at work was showing me Big Hill Springs pix on Google Earth a week ago. I thought at the time I should get up there. Count me in!

Just outta curiosity, I sent and email to Darwin Wiggett to ask if he might be available to do an outing/field trip/education session with us if we were agreeable to it.
I got a reply back but I dunno if anyone is interested but I will post the reply just in case.
FYI, if we can get enough of us interested, the cost could be worked out b/w all of us and might be reasonable. I would be willing to go in if others were.

    Here's the reply:

    Hi Lisa,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I was out on a photo field tour.

For a half day field tour (sunrise to noon, or noon to sunset), I charge $500 plus GST. You can have from 1 to 6 participants. People will be responsible for transportation to the meeting place and for their own meals. During the outing I will go around and help everyone out with specific questions as well as give some field demos on specific techniques. Hope that helps answer your questions.

I think that is out of my budget for now. However if people want to go out for a photo-shoot and then gather to show our favorites and our disappointments for critique and suggestions I'd be up for that. If we can get a hold of a projector I have a screen and a coffee pot, we could do the review here.

We could still do it on our own...I am more than willing to do that too...I was just curious, especially after a 1/2 bottle of wine.
Either way what ever the consensus decides, if anything, I am in.

I agree Casil. I'm for going out with the Photography.ca crowd and doing a slide show after. We can try Darwin in the summer when there are more hours between sun rise and noon
