I still loath the Imac and am praying it dies soon so I can justify getting back into PC world so I can get some work done. The good news is that Windows XP runs flawlessly on the Imac, way more stable and faster than Snow Kitten! My biggest beef with OS X on this Imac platform is crashing and super slow read/write speeds. Without 3rd party fan control software, it runs at temperatures far hotter than I'm comfortable with, not being able to hold your hand on top of the monitor is....Too hot! Anyway, I was always told to "Get a Mac cos they just go!" Well, I did but unfortunately it didn't! I don't use the computer unless I absolutely have to now as It's just not worth the grief! This is the last time I'll rant about it and I'm counting the days till it's gone!!!

Wow. I think you are the only person I've heard that is unhappy that they they went MAC and want to return. I do find it surprising that xp is more stable that snow leopard. If you find xp stable then you would be real happy with windows 7 (no, windows 7 was not my idea).

Before my last PC died in the night of hardware failure it ran Win XP without any error conditions for two years. I generally don't upgrade my OS unless I'm forced to (New software installation requires latest OS) I'm of the old "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" school. My production workflow requires eight pieces of software to process raw video, audio and image files into a polished presentation which is delivered to the client and I get paid. As long as all the parts work predictably and the outcome is top flight every time, I will stay with the model that works. When I go back to PC world, I may give Win 7 a whirl. If it's stable, doesn't mess with my workflow and doesn't require upgrades to all my software, I'll continue to use it otherwise I'll roll back to what works. Magic Mouse....It's a fine little tool until you take it into Photoshop where it is absolutely useless for precision work. Speed, performance, dependability and ease of use are where my PC box ran circles around the Imac. I never had to think about computing, just put in the hours and be creative. At the end of the day the Imac has so many issues that upset the workflow to the point of distraction and brings nothing new to the table in terms of it's ability to do things the PC couldn't do or even do those things better. In hindsight, I have to admit that my choice of Apple product was flawed, Power PC was the way I should have gone but to build what I had in my PC would have cost nearly eight thousand dollars as opposed to the two thousand the PC box cost and I still would have had what I perceive to be the limitations of OS X. There is a plus to this story for Apple though...When I do return to PC, I will probably run the 27" Cinema display as my main monitor as Mac screens are awesome!!

Have you ever thought of selling the Mac MAW? I wonder if you could get a decent price for it (they are in pretty high demand and they cost enough to make me thing that you might be able to get some decent coin out of it) and then taking the cash and going back to PC?
    Just a thought.....

But I will say this...The Mac as flawed as it has been still works way better that the US political system!
