How's it going everybody my name is Ben. I live in Northern Alberta Canada, and I am brand new to the world of photography. I recently just got married to my beautiful wife, and I am also a musician. I stumbled across photography over the past little while as a way to " have some fun " but then realized that I enjoyed it a lot more than that. The more i took pictures of random family members and the odd thing here and there the more I wanted to get better and better at it. I currently am using a fuji finepix camera which is a normal digital camera " point and shoot" if you will. I am slowly learning where I want to go with this and have been saving up for the Canon rebel which I think will serve me just fine. This place seems great! Can't wait to learn from you people

welcome ben - im also from northern ab, up past Grande Prairie. ive been interested in photography for a couple years, and its a great hobby to get into! this is a great site, where youll get tons of help & advice. the members range from newbies to hobbiests to professionals, so theres a nice range of opinion. once you get your camera and get into playing with and learning all the different stuff there is, youre gonna get hooked!

Hi Ben, I am new to this site, and new to photography as well. Your story sounds very similar to mine! I just bought the Canon Rebel XSI (was going to get the XTI), since that was recommended by a few professionals in my area, to get me started! Can't wait to compare notes!!
