Really excited to find this Canadian forum! I decided to get back into photography last Dec., with the purchase of a Nikon D60 w/18-55 VR lense. I had a few different point and shoots over the lat number of years, as well as a Pentax ME Super with a bunch of lenses that was gathering dust. I started shooting when I was about 8, and had never really progressed as far as I wanted to. Going DSLR allowed me to see much more quickly where I was going wrong, and gave me more freedom to experiment to make things work. I've been reading lots of books, and have also picked up some more gear along the way. Nikon 35 f1.8, Nikon 70-300VR, Nikon SB400 flash, bunch of filters, couple tripods, and now have a Lensbabys Muse on the way!
I plan on posting some of my shots in the "Critiques" area soon. I have a hard time removing myself from the shot sometimes, and have had people tell me how much they like a certain photo, when all I can think of is how I should have done something different. Look forward to hanging around more in the future!
A little about my style: I hate post. I do as much as I can in-camera, and very little on the computer. Usually, a little white balance, maybe some slight color/sharpness tweaks, occasionally a crop. I may try some HDR at some point, but mostly I try to capture what I see, or occasionally what the camera sees. I can't seem to make myself turn a picture into something different from reality.
