Just to say hello.
As the username suggests, I'm a fisherman who likes to tow along a camera. 99% of what I shoot is simple record photography consisting mostly of "fish porn" -- big fish been held by happy anglers. But every now and again I get in a more serious mood and try to capture images that are more in keeping with the experience. I'm looking for the image that's suggestive of the emotions and feelings of fishing. In the sample attached image, it's the expectation of the strike that I've sought to capture.
Most of these images are made on a simple P&S camera as I carry enough fishing junk with me, adding a DSLR to the mix is just too much. But when the fishing is slow, I'll sometimes drag out the bigger stuff.
In a former life, I was a stock photographer for about 10 years, plus I also shot some environmental portraiture, and a bit of photojournalism.
Over time I hope to put together the better images as an essay on angling.
