Hello all, I live in Ontario Canada.
I am a rookie to photography. I have always loved taking pictures with my P&S cameras, and always wanted to transition towards a DSLR camera. For me, I love the look and feel of Nikon. In December I was challenged with the decision of getting a D90 or a D300.
I decided on a D300 and have not regreted my decision at all. Along with this initial purchase, I bought the Nikon Grip, a 18-200mm F5.6 VR lens and an SB-800 flash.
I have consumed myself in this hobby over the past month and a half. I have purchased several books on photography and I am learning quickly about the benefits of Lightroom 2.
I seem to enjoy various types of photography including landscapes, macro and just taking candid shots of my loved ones.
I have enrolled in a college nightschool photography course and look forward in obtaining a certificate over the next few years.
I am into this hobby like nothing I have ever done before. I have a long term list of things to get including but not limited to the following:
1. 105 f2.8 Nikor Micro VR lens
2. 70-200mm VR f2.8 Nikor
3. 14-24mm Wide angle lens Nikor
4. A good tipod and perhaps the gorilla grip
But for now, I am taking about 100 to 400 photos a week, learning the ins and outs of my camera. The learning curve is high in this hobby but im up for the challenge.
Thats about it for now, I have just finished reading the Lightroom 2 book, the moment it clicks and I have recently started Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. All great starting points for me.
