I've been listening to the podcasts for a few months now and really appreciate the discussions. I like the creative and exploratory attitude of the shows. keep it up!

When I was in high school I got a minolta slr and really enjoyed learning everything about photography. i remember reading through every page of the manual as soon as i bought it, actually, maybe that figures why i'm a techie... but at some point i put the camera down and didn't pick it back up until a few years ago when I made a great trip to france and israel. I figured let's jump back into it. So I've been fighting nikon/lens/gear acquisition syndrome ever since

I never really took any instructional photography courses so I have a lot to catch up and learn about so please be completely honest with your comments and critiques. i appreciate it.

Welcome DJ! I liked your NYC aerial pix. It was in that city that the photography bug really bit me. I especially liked the Flat Iron Buiding in Manhattan.

thanks Joe, those are two of my favorite shots.

the one of the sunset on the beach in costa rica i took with the tokina 12-24 and just set up my tripod and took about 50 different long exposure shots! just experimenting with different settings. this one was probably the best.

the one of the butterfly birth was so cool. it was also in costa rica, at the La Paz Waterfall Garden, which is a great place to check out btw, and i just happened to walk by this as the little guy was breaking out of his cocoon. very good timing, if i do say so myself ;-) haha

thanks EJC.. nyc is one of the best cities in the world. i lived there for a couple years and i think it's just one of those places you really have to live in to appreciate. it's much different living there than being a visitor (which you could probably say about every place, but still)

when you live there it's like you're underground and you know all the tunnels. when you visit it's like you're just stuck on the surface. you know there's all this life underground but you just don't know how to get there.
