    here are some links for other organizations who might want to join the effort;

    CAPA - The Canadian Association for Photographic Art

    Images Alberta Camera Club - Edmonton's Largest Photography Club, Established 1975: Alberta Canada

    Prairie Region of Photographic Arts

    Have not sent anything out yet, I think a well formulated letter could be sent to all clubs/forums/sites inviting them to participate. Any thoughts?

    Great ideas all, Matt you can get hold of them if you want since it is Regional to you and Casil and she has a fabulously well written letter you might be able to use but you will have to check with her. I will work on a basic site and logo over tonight and tomorrow and will post when I get them done I hope no later than Monday morning.

    I wish i head seen this thread earlier

    anyway - I'd like to help in any way I can and we can surely use this site to promote the idea.

    I rarely publicly oppose stuff but imo publikxposure.com is a terrible choice.

    Nobody will be able to spell it and when you refer people to the site, you'll have to explain how it's spelled (and they will forget it within 5 seconds...feel free to to a test).... if it gets any press - huge chance the journalist will misspell the name.
    - It's actually the number 1 rule on memorable domain names....make sure it's impossible to misspell. This has 2 spelling errors in it.

    OBVIOUSLY I'll still lend my support to whatever we do... but i would highly advise against using this name at this early stage. If you do decide to take my advice, I have no objection to footing the bill for the domain name (as I feel I should have spotted this thread earlier) even if someone else registers it...

    Default Logo idea

    Our Logo - we could use the mode dial on the camera as our logo...
    Something like this with the logo located somewhere in the dial?
    Personally I kind of like it...anybody else feel free to run with it to spark other ideas.

    well yes, it's shorter by one vowel ... I was thinking in contrast to "camera obscura" ... to stick with the latin .... but I am ok with anything (almost)

    I'd love it if a few others chimed in to give opinions.
