Thanks for your interest in my photography. I want to inform you that I am doing nothing wrong:

I am guaranteed that right to take pictures in public in Canada because it is clearly outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Section 2.b) states that as both a Canadian citizen and as a photographer I am allowed:

"Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;”

This statement absolutely guarantees my right to express myself through photography, and the freedom to publish my photos. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees my right to take photographs in public.

I can take photos of anything and under regular circumstances, as long as no laws are broken while photographing, it is not against the law.

the text that describes 'our freedoms', that font seems a bit stiff to me...aside from that - very nice!

maybe we''ll wait for any additional comments today and then you (or I if need be) can upload these tomorrow?

    many thx! Marko
    Hi Marko!

In order to upload that much text I have to create a file in Elements and add text line by line, then upload as a transparent png file after which there is an approval waiting time. I will do the same text in different colors but if you have a font in mind let me know. I can always download it if I do not have it.

So if anyone was wondering why it is taking so long that is the reason. Text applied directly from their app goes on immediately but you are limited in fonts and style and the png file looks much nicer.

Fantastic. Great work. I am wondering though about the "Photography is not a Crime" shirts. Isn't there a bit of an issue with that? I don't know if Carlos Miller registered that as a trademark or a copyright or anything but I'm not sure if we can use it?

Cafe Press has a lot of them using the same words but by different designers, so I do not see why not.

I probably shouldn't have said anything about the font...
Here's 3 fonts I just looked at quickly the last one is really weird and called earwig factory.

Feel free to choose the one you like best even your original one - no worries at all. sorry on the bright red - my error - I tried to choose the same colour - but something wonky happened.

    many thx again

In terms of crediting people, I just copied and pasted people that posted in this thread and added a link to their websites if they had it posted in their profile. Feel free to PM Iggy or me if you want us to modify the credit.

Why was the Second Saturday of September picked? That is not a good weekend for a lot of parents of school age children, that is the weekend the school sends you home a list a foot long of supplies the kids needs. It is also a short week and the end of the first week of school and people usually are too tired that weekend to do much, being a parent just a bad weekend. The other issue is if you want HS kids involved they have not ever really started school yet so to get the word out at HS the date should be 3 to 4 weeks after the start of school. Just my thoughts feel free to ignore them.

    Hey, A.L.

Marko and I were both going to be out of town the subsequent weekends in September and we both really wanted to be involved so we moved it ahead to the second Saturday. I don't really see this as a problem for parents since school supplies are bought in advance school, generally in late August. As for getting HS students involved, it's much easier to get the word out via the Internet than to rely on any kind of communication with the school system.

In terms of other weekends in sept - sept 4 is labour day weekend so many will be out of town. Sept 18 is Yom Kippur (holiest and a fasting day for Jews).

So Sept. 11 just seemed to fit....

Hope that's cool, especially since we've already started putting out "the word".

    thx - Marko
