#2 works for me too. Public Photography in the cross hairs. I'll add in tonight if everyone is amenable (or no one complains ).
As I said to Marko in a PM, right now my life is pretty chaotic with finishing a very important fulltime school practicum, (with a bit of a huge learning curve) and then also working part time as well. so not only do I not have a lot of time for photos, I do not have a lot of time for much else for at least the next 2 weeks.
I am committed to doing extremely well on this practicum so I can have a better chance at finding employment once it is done so all my time, energy and priorities are focused there for the next few weeks.
Sorry guys that's how it has to be right now. I will catch up and jump back into this in a couple weeks when life slows down a bit for me.
Feel free to use this on the website if you like...or change it up if you want to as well. I wrote it a while back. It gives an idea of what I think we are about.

A Celebration Focusing on the Rights of Photographers
An idea is in the works by a few people. What we are hoping to accomplish is a peaceful mass photo get together from Coast to Coast City to City Town to Town across Canada to bring attention and awareness to the fact that public photography is not a crime and photographers are not criminals. We are merely people with a pastime, a hobby or a job and photography is the means in which we express ourselves. We are guaranteed that right to do so in Canada because it is clearly outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Section 2.b) of the Charter states we as both Canadians and photographers are allowed:
“Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;”
This statement absolutely guarantees our right to express ourselves through photography, and the freedom to publish our photos. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees our right to take photographs in public. That's right; we can take photos of anything in public and under regular circumstances, as long as no laws are broken while photographing. It is not against the law.
Oh and I love Kat/Pete's #2 version.

I like what you have written casil and we'll incorporate it into the blog.
I too like Kat's #2 design (Thanks Pete )
In terms of making it the standard header size to fit in the blog though it needs to be exactly 940px × 198px I tried to do this with photoshop and it didn't work out. I'm guessing the file was done in illustrator... any chance you could resize #2 for us to exactly 940 x 198 pixels?
many thx!
Marko

Are the colors fine? would you like a couple more done up with out the cross hairs..diferent design I guess? I'll pass the resize to him.
Personally, i really want to limit the work Pete is doing for us. If he's the creative type and wants to try more designs or small embellishments because he loves to play...he can of course, but frankly, i think we may just have it..He's VERY talented to have come up with these 3 designs so quickly.
But it seems several members including myself are perfectly happy with design #2 - The colours are strong, it's very readable...it just works imo. Only the resize is necessary and that might take a wee bit of fiddling...so if he's able to do that for us - Yahoo!
Thx kat!

No problem! I'll get him to do it when he gets home from work. He has it saved in different formats (for printing purposes I think) so whatever you need from it just shout out! He doesn't mind. Anything to get him doing something

Both Marko and I will be away from our respective home towns on the 4th Saturday in September so we decided, committee of two, to move it to the Second Saturday in September (SSS) which this year is September 11th, 2010.
We both believe that we should have more than enough time to promote via the web and so that should be more than enough time.
Unless there are strong objections to this date we'll lock it in for this date.
Pete did a banner. Hopefully it's what you are looking for.
