    Default Photo Shoot

I have 3 photo shoots this weekend. A wedding on Sat. and twins on Sun. (my "instructor" is taking me along to them, they're her shoots). And I have my very own first photo shoot this Fri. at Queensland beach, 2 great danes and a 1 year old son. Anyone have any advice? I can't wait...

    Yup - Best advice...PREPARE.

Go to the locations beforehand at approximately the same time as the shoots to see what the light is like - where the sun is....and possible shooting locations based on where the light is.

Also - have an idea BEFOREHAND of the types of shots you'd like to take.

These 2 tips will put you FAR more at ease during the actual shoot.

Hope that helps and good luck....and of course you have to post a few results from the shoot...

I already do have some ideas as to the type of shots, and that is a good idea about going to the location beforehand. I will for sure post some of the shots. I can't wait..woohoo..

The great danes have a one year old son?

Marko's right on with his suggestions, additionally, talk to the clients, ensure that you know what sort of images they want, if there is anything special, and for the dogs, make sure that the owner's have a few treats to get them doing what you want - even the best behaved of dogs will invariably take this time to act like a total brat.

For the one year old, a couple of changes of clothes, and ensure that Mom or Dad has a couple of his/her favorite toys along.

Bring LOTS of batteries and memory cards, if you have a laptop, have that handy to do on-site review, and check the weather before hand!

LOL....The owners and mother of the 1 year old told me she just wants some professional candid shots of them, and if she doesn't bring dog treats, I'll have some with me. I was down the road yesterday with my camera gear and was getting some shots of a cute dog, the owner said he was a little turkey because he would actually hold still for me, all I did was get his attention at the right moment. It's supposed to be sunny on friday, but NS weather can turn in a dime, . For sure I will ask her to bring some fav toys along for her child, maybe a little toy shovel or something too, sandcastles...lol. I have 4 rechargable batteries and disposable spares, one 512 MB memory card and one 256 MB memory card, and I always bring my laptop with me because I do my editing and burn it to disk on site for them. Thank-you very much for the advice.

tell me about the Nova Scotia weather. I'm in south west Nova Scotia and we are shrouded in thick damp fog.

I think that you may need bigger cards than that. Best Buy has Scandisk Ultra II on sale this week. Check out their flyer.

Good luck with your photo shoot
