beyond the fact that this is a killer image , the information that you gave is just as awesome!!! it makes me think that what we need is a guide book with these kind of descriptions - for photographers or whomever would enjoy getting off of the beaten path for some of natures glories!

SO, here is a thread that can be devoted to that kind of information.... a place to post the hidden treasures of the land... in your thread title, maybe post general location..then in the body of the post, more of what squirl033 did - a description of what makes that place magical...somehow, we need to come up with a way to map it as well.... more ideas of how to make this thread a great resource is most welcome!!

We should be able to mark these on Google Maps. I know in Fickr I do that sometimes. Though a description of how to get there is even better as in this case.

good idea but might be hard to keep up with. I know that if you upload in Picasa you can link the photo to google maps.

This would be a good resource especially for people located in similar areas. I guess what we are talking about here is a resource for photographers to find locations to shoot more so that the location of a particular image, but this is somewhat related. I messed around with Jeffrey Friedl's(lightroom plugin guru) GeoTagging for lightroom last week. It was easy to used and would probably help on a long trip to know where you took certain photos. My phone is capable of gps logging, and many more phone are coming with this ability, so GeoTagging is becoming more accessible to most people at no real cost.
