You don't need an even number btw, Lisa. Just make a list of the people who are participating and using that list make individual names on cards or peices of paper and put those in a hat (or basket or bowl or whatever). Then just draw the names assigning the first name drawn to the first name on the list and so on. If someone gets their own name drawn just throw it back in the 'hat' and draw again until everyone is matched up with someone they will be doing a photo for.

but if everyone is matching with everyone else, shouldn't that indicate we need an even number...ie paring off?
Sorry if I seem a bit daft about this...I am overburdened with all kinds of school medical sematics, jargon and minutae lately so I am having trouble processing the simpler stuff...lol.
Thank Gawd there's no math or my head would have exploded already!
Someone else can do the acttual draw part, I am going to drink wine and try not to think too hard!

No lets get two random number generators, then create a pool of numbers, we'll cross reference these to each other and then do what Kat said.

you do run the risk of getting to the end and having the last person on the list as the last name in the hat. Then you need to manually intervene or redraw.

LOL I vote Greg and Raiven to do the draw while I sit in fetal position in a corner with a glass of wine rocking back and forth...LOL!.
