    Default The Auschwitz Album

"The Auschwitz Album is the only surviving visual evidence of the process of mass murder at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is a unique document and was donated to Yad Vashem by Lilly Jacob-Zelmanovic Meier." quote from the introduction.

It is another photo series that is disturbing, touching and hard to look at but with most things I believe we should not ignore photos of things we find disturbing. WE say never again, but look at Dafur and many other parts of the world, sometimes we just never learn.

Excellent post, AL, and very well said. After I researched the Rwanda Genocide and and Bosnia a few years back, I pretty much lost faith in the "Never Again" motto the UN clings to, and the rest of humanity as well (lol, sounds kind of extreme).

Thanks for posting these A.L. I actually expected these photos to be MUCH more graphic. I have seen images of the camps that boggle the human mind with regard to evil and the ability to carry out evil.

I have not been to Auschwitz but I have been to Dachau in Germany some years back. We need pictures like these to show the environment as it was.

    Thx again - Marko
