Default My image used on the news

While I was watching the news at noon today, I sprung up as soon as I saw this image they were using, an image I took a little over 5 years ago. I learned they took it off the restaurant's website. I am not sure how the restaurant got the image (I may have given it to them), but I did contact the news, told them to give me photo credit, and I emailed the restaurant, asking for a free dinner. (haven't heard back from the restaurant yet)

    What would you do?

What would I do? Feel flattered that they used it?

To be honest I don't think there is practically much more you can do other than what you have.

I have a few photos that are used in various places without consent and .they have given no attribution or acknowledgement e.g. on commercial travel sites, a US politician's web site (and I disagree with their politics) and even church web sites. There are also quite a few that have asked for permission and do give credit

Unfortunately if you put it out on the web, it will get used and there isn't much you can do.
I welcome all critique and comments on any of my photos

Depends who is using the photo - and how big a deal it is to you.

Someone like a news (too bad it's not CNN) station....if you wanted to pursue the issue, you WOULD be able to sue and win something.

Personally though....I would just use it to my advantage in words.

They used your image on KGXY news? That makes you a serious photojournalist..... it's a credit. Use it that way

That's just it, I asked for photo credit, they took it down instead.
