    Default Cropping

I was wondering what everyone thinks about cropping? Specifically I was wondering about aspect ratios. Personally I usually stick to 6x4 unless I have a specific use in mind, like printing 5x7, or screen dimensions for a screen saver. Very rarely if it is for digital use only I will do a square crop, but NEVER a random crop to remove something I don't want in the image. I don't know why.

    Your thoughts.....

I crop most of my good images for print as either 5x7, 8x10, or 11x14. If it's strictly for web use, than I'll do whatever crop I feel best suits the image.

Unless I have a reason to crop away from the aspect ratio the camera provides then I stick with that. Never know when I'll want to print it.

However, if I'm only displaying the photo online then I do at time crop to whatever looks best to me. No point leaving on something I don't like if I want the photo to look it's best.

I’m right in the middle of PP for a wedding shot last week. 101 crops for print so far, and I’m just a little over half way through.

    Jeez, I’m going to bed.

I try to get the image right in camera, but I'll crop any image at anytime if I feel it improves the image.
