Some really fantastic photos in there!

The one of the earthquake and the morning brother really spoke volumes to me.

Great set of photos. Almost all of them feature the elements identified by Marko and others in the thread of "what makes a great photo".

Although I must admit I don't get why the 25th one... the the third prize of the Daily Life Singles category would appear in the same context as the others.

Am I missing something? What make this one great? (3rd prize is still pretty good!)

Are you guys kidding?!?!?! THESE ARE GARBAGE!!!! I could take these with my eyes closed without a camera. Ok, I lied in the last sentence.....and the one before that....ok, the whole thing is a lie. These are really good images. Greg is right, these do contain all the elements that marko has laid out to be a great image. Maybe we should listen to him a little more often.....

i really likeed the Obamas' image, the snow leopard and the Dennis Hopper ones in particular.

Some of these are INCREDIBLY moving and powerful - thanks so much for posting this link.

All of these images tell incredibly powerful stories. Granted it's way easier to tell photo journalistic stories as the reality is right there in your face, but still, the choices the photogs made (in a millisecond or the story changes or is over) for these shots are obviously excellent.
