    Default The Year In Photographs

This list of photos is from Boston.com who seem to get a lot of great photos. Mostly news related from around the Globe. The more graphic photos you are asked to allow before they show. It is a 3 parts series, here is parts 1 and 2, and I think part 3 comes out Friday.

“I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.” Jacques-Henri Lartigue

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke

"Vive L'Acadie, Liberté, égalité, fraternité, ou la mort!"

Too many of them are sad and tragic. I remember seeing pictures like this around a decade or so ago and they were not nearly as bloody and tragic. When our best photos come from tragedy, there is something not right in the world. Hopefully, next year has more celebratory and happy images.

Thanks for sharing this though, I passed the link on to a few friends. I personally love the lightning storm volcano image.

It is like this every year, nothing changes just depends where you look for photos, I like the good, the sad, the tragic, the artistic. I find Photos have more an impact on any emotion that moving or written words cannot convey. So I look at most of them, their are some that I won't even look at but if they are related to an important world or local event I usually will.

I look at them all. The dead Iraqi boy was heart wrenching. I want to know, sometimes I just don't want to see. Thanks again for posting these.

Oh I agree I looked at all of them, if they are newsworthy I look, just some gory photography with no redeeming value is what I usually avoid, and most of it fake is more what I meant.

wow, so many amazing photos. Though many are tragic, I somehow feel inspired.
