    Default Wedding photography

A few weeks ago, my aunt asked me to bring my camera to her daughter's wedding, and offered me 500 bucks for my photos, mainly because she hated the photographers. Apparently, they refused her request for a few pictures with all four generations of women, and even tried to tell the bride that they do not want children in the pictures after the ceremony, because "they ruin pictures". My cousin said that children MAKE the wedding, and demanded it.

Now, I totally understand that they are getting paid, that they make a living shooting weddings, so I did what I could to get the best pictures that I could, while staying out of their way, but they showed me that they really were *******s with cameras; being the only guest with a dslr(smartphones being the most common sight), they made it a point to be in my shots, in a position that I could not edit them out, even positioning their flash to ruin my shots...

Two weeks after the wedding, the pictures still haven't been seen, by either the bride, or anyone who goes to the web site...

In my opinion, these self proclaimed "Wedding photojournalists" need to learn to go with the requests of the customers, at the restraint of their art....

I think all anyone can say is you should get references, look at portfolios and shop around when getting a wedding photographer. If it is your wedding you need to know the style the photographer shoots in, then is it in your taste and a contract that will tell you the ins and outs of the agreement, just seems to me in the case you mention no one knew what they wanted, what they were suppose to get, and so much more. Seems like those who hired the photographer and the photographer themselves failed to reach any sort of an understanding before the wedding about what they had contracted. I give wedding photographers some credit though, it is not something I would ever consider doing. I would never photograph a wedding, not even for a friend, my children nor anyone ever, lol.
