Edward Burtynsky (Canadian) is one of my favourite photographers. This is a 34 minute speech he gave at TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) when he won in 2005. Very interesting speech, talks about his works and what he is going to do with the Prize money. Also you might find some very interesting talks that are given at TED from many of todays best thinkers and those who are of influence.

I found the TED a while back well researching someone else I think highly of, Richard Dawkins whom also gave a talk at TED. Also if you come across this movie Manufactured Landscapes it is worth watching, a multi award winning Documentary following Edward Burtynsky.
