    Question need photo lab suggestions

Hi, this is my first visit. I hope someone can help. I'm in need of a good, reliable photo lab for printing wedding photos. (a Canadian company)

I'm also in need of supplies such as acid free photo boxes, small client display albums, cardboard display frames, photo thank you cards. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

My recommendation isn't for a Canadian company, but hopefully the information will help.

So many people use White House Custom Color http://whcc.com I haven't used them yet, I have always been very happy with the prices, service and product from http://www.mpix.com. MPix color corrects every photo (unless you select not to) WHCC does no adjustments so it is required that you calibrate your monitor. Mpix also has press printed products, so they can help with your Thank You cards as well.

http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com and http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/browse.asp?cat=443 both have the archival supplies you need.

My mistake has been seeking new landscapes. I should have been seeking new light.

I recently ordered a wedding book from prophoto books, they are a Canadian Company. The whole beginning process was pretty daunting, their uploading tool is not very user friendly, however, their customer service is spectacular! They pretty much bent over backwards to make sure I was a happy customer. Their books are of amazing quality and your first order is 50% off I believe, which is a good thing because they are expensive as hell.... all in all though, I do recommend them, based on their quality and the customer service.

i love mpix. their metallic prints are great! also, they ship so fast.

here is a podcast if you want to see what goes on at mpix

it was interesting to see what they do for color correcting. i had pictured it as an automated process.

a tip i picked up from the show was to request a packet for getting my color settings matched up to theirs for perfect prints.

I like mpix.com too. I just got my first two orders from them last week. The packaging was great. They will also drop ship in plain white packaging with out their logo on them, which I thought was pretty cool.

As suggested above, Silvano is a good lab and you don't need to be a professional to use them although they do a lot of professional work. For a pro lab, I've been using Custom Colour in Toronto for about 20 years or more and have been always pleased with their work. In Toronto there's also UAF, NexGen (formerly TCN) and Trend. I believe all of these will ship anywhere in Canada.
