Trying out someone's Orton directions

I'm not quite sure what I think of the results. Comments?

I quite like it. Maybe leaning a bit toward 'artography' but I think within reasonable limits and still nice photos. I think the 3rd shot appeals most to me. The composition seems best.

Thanks for the feedback, MA and Foots. I tried it with the effect a little stronger at first, but wasn't convinced it worked. Some of the flowers were in the shade, which was part of the reason I tried it out - lots of lightening needed otherwise. I'll try it again at some point, maybe a bit stronger, maybe with a starting photo that isn't as dark. Sometimes I have to let stuff grow on me.

Thanks for the feedback, Kat. Of the 3 I was most certain of the one you like. Since all 3 images got a favorable nod, I figure I'm using a light enough hand and am generally headed in the right direction. I've tried it out on a couple of other pictures. I might post them sometime this weekend.
