    Very cool looking log. Easy to see what caught your attention. It certainly looks like some sort of animal!

    I love the colour of the glow under the neck of this but find the background colours to be a bit distracting. For this reason I think the choice to try B&W was a good one.

    I think the b&W can be better though. It lacks contrast and also sharpness. Ramp those up a fair bit and I think you'll be getting closer.
    I definitely like the crop in your B&W better than the colour version too.
