Nice photo. The texture and color is excellent. Can I ask which lens and aperture you're using?

Is there anything gained by using f/32 at 1/2? It seems diffraction would reduce sharpness at such a small aperture. Looks gorgeous all the same though.

i used the Kit lens that came with my camera. its 18-70 3.5 - 5.6. and with this camera that's the only I seem to get pretty good shots is if i use small aperture don't know why but that's what it seems. If i just do a normal exposure its not as sharp or focused.

Sounds like a depth of field thing Kevin. The lower f-stops produce a much shallower DOF (less will be in focus) which can be good for isolating your subject. Try a tripod for those lower f-stops, or if you don't have one then sit the camera on a table etc, and use the self timer and see if that helps with the focus.
