    Default Maxi goes low

I'd never tried the twenty five thousand ISO range on the D700 before and Maxi just happened to be laying at my feet trying hard to be dimly lit. She wasn't in any kind of historical pose but I wondered what the camera would make of it. I used the 50 mil 1.8 at 1/50. The light was an Ikea fluorescent 40 watt aimed away from Maxi but bouncing off a small bookshelf, roughly five feet away....Really tragic light. With some lite treatment in post I got this. Obviously not gonna make magazine covers but nice to know that in a pinch of darkness, one can have a shot of the cat without extra gear resulting in no subject when all is said and done
