This is a discussion on Winter River within the Critiques forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; Another edit of a photo from awhile ago. Forgot where it was posted so added it here instead....
That sky is wicked. Love the colors

It's a nice shot but for my personal taste it's a bit overprocessed or oversaturated.
Now this might just be the effect you were going for, but to me it's a bit overboard on the colors.
Were this is most critical for me is the horizon (white streaks on the tall building, or is it fog?looks like pp borders to me) and the oversaturated blue of the righthand sky.
It would be interesting to see the original, to get a feel were you were coming from.
The composition is nice, though my eyes keeps kind of darting over the searching for foreground interest.

It is beautiful! Great image!
Also, thank you so much for the Moo card and the greeting card. Very nice stuff!
Ok, here is the final edit of the original HDR from before.

Seph that white stuff on the horizon is low clouds partly obscuring the Rocky mountains.
They both have their good points but I think I lean towards the other one in your link as it has a more powerful feel to it ... more mood.
I also prefer your older version to this for the same reason MA said. I'm in love with this shot
Also the icy river reflecting the colors of the sky adds foreground interest that I was searching for, which leads the eye into the mid and background. Those reflections aren't really visible or pronounced colorwise in you new edit.
As for the clouds, I like them in front of the mountains and now recognise them as being clouds. What I was (and still am) unsure about, are the clouds(?) in front of those 3 tall buildings, which are very dark at their tops, and rather light on their bottoms.
