Another Dog Shot...

I quite like this shot and think overall it's well done.

To make it even better I might have framed the shot so that the dog was less central in the frame and maybe a bit closer to the camera. Perhaps a slight Increase in contrast might make it pop more but be careful not to lose detail in the dog.

But as it is shot now - I don't think I'd crop it - I love the field of dandelions.

I like the idea of the photo, but is it me or is the dog out of Focus or is it just lack of sharpness? I would also play a bit with the vibrancy and saturation to get a bit more yellow in the dandelions (I mean a very minor adjustment). Just my two cents, just find the dogs lack of sharpness of out of focus distracting, maybe the dandelions are fine. What was your Aperture and lens speed out of curiosity?

You are shooting from the level of the dog which is great from the point of view of composition but the eyes are an absolutely necessary part of the picture and unfortunately, they are not visible.

Yeah.... I think the dog might be a little soft... I haven't done any PP on this shot...

I was actually doing macro shots with my 105 (I have to manual focus this lens) when she came running at me... and I took the opportunity.... I had to back the lens up from 1:1 to get her in....

I kinda like this shot so I'll see if I can sharpen her up....

I agree.... it is a challenge to show this dog eyes because of the black markings on her face...

As far as composition.... I would confess some luck... I was already on my knees doing macros... this shot wasn't planned...

btw... the macros didn't turn out very well but at least I came home with this...
