    Default Under my Umbrella...

Been a lil while since I have posted, I have been busy in Cairns, and I have about 700 photos to go through from that trip, so over time I will start posting those up (not all of them of course, so don't freak out!), but for now, here's a couple of Anna, who I did a photo shoot with yesterday afternoon at Caves Beach, on the Central Coast.

hi chantelle. this is my first time to comment on your shots.
i like them all specially no. 1.
my comments, may be a little white reflector to reduce the shadows on the face of photo no 1 and 2. photo 3, should have moved the umbrella a little forward to cover the sun hitting the nose and helped with a small white reflector.

Ah, I did not even realise the sun was on her nose in photo3. I will keep that in mind for the future. Thanks for your comments

Hi Chantelle, Love the scene and model, I agree with edbayani11 about the reflector. The pose of shot 1 is fantastic. IMO Shot 3 needs a faster shutter speed to stop the motion blur on her foot.

Yea I didnt notice the motion blur on the little LCD screen, until I got home and saw it. I'll need to get myself a reflector. Thanks guys

Given the harsh natural light, these are quite well done.

shot 1 - I love the pensive expression here. Sharp focus on the lashes - Nice. To my eye shot looks a bout a 1/2 stop overexposed.

shot 2 - My fave of the 3. Nice intense sharp gaze. Definite fill flash or reflector needed to light her eyes.

shot 3 - way way cool background here. You missed the focus here. Model is not sharp so despite the coolness factor I would reject this image. Foot blur would not bother me 1 bit if the model's eyes were sharp. Stronger fill flash needed for the face.

This is an excellent effort in tough tough light. If you were part of a pro crew...they might have tamed the sun with a huge diffuser. Or they may have tamed the sun by NOT using it as the main light for the model. This would have allowed them to control both the intensity and the quality of the main light (flash) and any fill.

    Hope that helps - Marko

    Thanks guys

Unfortunately by this time my flash had been playing up, it would not connect to the camera properly for some reason, and it wasn't the batteries because I changed them to be sure. I will have to clean the censors/connect parts. This has happened before, but not on a shoot, so I was rather disappointed.

Lovely picture, I liked the first one of this series, the third one, I dont know if it is the perspective, but her leg seems stretched.
