    The main problem with this photo is that the 'original' was 20k - then it was resized to 40 K.

    Normally the original [(depending on which camera it was taken on) and WHAT resolution (low, medium, fine, JPEG, RAW)] should be anywhere from 500k-10 megs...and be WAY too big to see at 100% on your computer without scrolling.

    Then when it's resized for the web it should be 60-150 K for decent quality.

    My technique is to start with original, do the post processing, THEN change the image size, then save it for the web.

    Kind of looks like it was taken with a film camera giving it a bit of a antique look to it.
