I like where your going with this but too dark, I would try it in B&W and play with it a bit and I think you have winner. Just the green and black seem to cancel each other out and moving to B&W might just give it the life it deserves.
“I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.” Jacques-Henri Lartigue
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke"Vive L'Acadie, Liberté, égalité, fraternité, ou la mort!"
That's an interesting shot! Looks like you've purposely compressed the levels/curves to create a seriously dramatic shot.
I like the composition. Looks like an old Jeep axle taking 'centre stage' there.
I do have to agree with A.L's suggestion that a conversion to B&W might be the strongest way to go here.
If not, I'd be trying to get some detail back into the that sky.
thanks guys, im going to try to do a good black and white conversion of this one, ill post it up when i have something to my liking.
And thats as much detail as I could milk out of that sky, had to pull out all my tricks to get that much
I really like this one. Especially the green and the black.
Except for a few completely black spots, like the left upper corner, I don't think it's too underexposed at all. I feel it works very well with the trail of light guiding the eye through the scene.
A lower perspective might have captured a tad more of the drama in the sky.
Also some background interest could be nice.
I'm not really convinced B&W would enhance this shot. It might, but it was the color palette that really captivated me. Pretty much anything in the frame is either green, white or black. And of course the rust color, which stands out. Maybe that's why I wouldn't necesarily make this B&W. JMO
I too like the colour of this. It has a heavy feeling, like just before a storm breaks. I'm even okay with the sky. The upper left though is too dark, so perhaps either a dodge or a crop might help.
Feel free to make comments on any of my shots

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
I brightened up the left corner like a few of you mentioned, you can kinda see that in the top one now. Note the top image on the first post IS the new image as the link wasent broken just another image in its place
heres in black and white
I love all things black and white but personaly i prefer colour for this shot.
I like the increased detail in the new brightened color-version. It still keeps that dark moody almost depressing feel, with the great contrast of Black, Green and white. I really feel this makes the image what it is to me
As for the B&W version:
As I guessed the B&W version doesn't work for me here. It somehow looses it's powerful, surreal look. Also by loosing the green much details seems lost to me. For example the tires in the background are kind of hard to make out without the green contrasting their black, if I had not known better, I'd mistaken some of them for rocks.
Many shots work better in B&W but in my opinion this one doesn't. And probably because it was already shot with the colors in mind.

I like it! As much as I did like the green/black strength of the original I think this version looks good. The extra detail around that tree in the clouds definitely adds something.
Thanks guys, im sticking with the new colour version. At some point you need to just stop re touching photos and move on the something new.
