    Default Taipei at Sunset



    The golden sun is setting the in the great capital of Taiwan.

    I know this shot could definitely be better. Any suggestions at all?

    lovely scene Canthaiwan, I would always try and decide what the point of the shot is, if its the cityscape then show more of the city, if its the sunset show more of the sky. I think a 33/66 split might help.

    I like this. I'd like to see it a bit bigger though.

    I think boosting up the yellows and oranges would help to make this better perhaps. But then again ... I like the almost pastel quality it has now so I'm not so sure.

    Love that yellow splash of cloud tecture high above the sun. The more I actually look at this photo the more I like it.

    Found it larger on FLickr ...

    Flickr Photo Download: Taipei at Sunset looks good too!

    Now I've seen it bigger I think I'd be encouraged to maybe get some of the pink around the horizon to stand out a bit more.

    Hi Mad Aussie,
    Thank you for the critique. For future sunset/sunrise shots, how would I specifically get the pink colour around the horizon? I don't know how to do this.

    It's something I would pull out in post processing in photoshop

    You could use filters to get more of a pink/rose colour but these days that's something we can do more selectively in post processing later.
