Just thought Id hear what you guys have to say about this one. Its on 40 acres my parents are looking to buy. We walked around the property a few weeks ago. Caught the pond at a nice moment.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
Me too I want my dad to buy a pond so I can shoot
For me the shot is too grey overall, I realize it's a fog shot but I think it could use a contrast boost. It's also not level. The white sky without detail is also a distraction for me - I'd try to burn that puppy in, especially the edge.
I think with 15 min of additional PP you could keep the fog and get a more intense mood. Hope that helps - Marko

just to add, that white blur, mid level on the right edge could go.
I like this..great mood to it!

Thanks Marko. All I did was convert it to B&W. Ill play around with it a little bit and see what I can come up with. I have the next two days off so I you will probably see me around here a little more than usual.

Here is my second edit. I sharpened it a tad, boosted the contrast a bit, and took out that annoying spot on the right of the image.
Boosting the contrast turned the sky even more white. This made burning it a little more difficult. I did some burning and then backed out of it. It seemed to add a haze that was not there and turned the image into something that I did not resemble the environment I was trying to capture.
If anyone wants to give this image a whack go for it and lets see what you can come up with.

I personally don't mind the white sky. I find it brings the trees out. I see what you mean about loosing that look. That mysterious, foggy look. Let me relook at this in a bit.

That's not a pond. That's a lake. My entire garden isn't that big...
I don't mind the white sky either. You should really keep it for the mood.
Listen, three eyes, don't you try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
Nice JJ. I do not mind the sky. I am a little more distracted by the plant bits in the foreground.

I like this image, I like the mistiness of it and the reflections in the water. The sharpened image definitely looks better to me. Only real critique I have here is...pity the sky has no detail, its just white, no cloud detail or anything.
Good job all round though!
