It looks a little like an HDR done from more than one version of the RAW file, but irrespective of how it was done,...or not done, colour, lighting, and composition are extremely effective and gives the image great visual impact.

I agree with tegan, this is a strong image that has loads going for it. I wish the swan was looking more directly at us but we can't have everything.
