"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
You are using a great idea with the textures and the diagonals for composition.
One problem I see, is that you always frame TOO tightly. From a composition point of view the horizon or anything else should not be too close to the edge of the frame as it is here.
A bland sky is a problem but a graduated blue filter or inserting some clouds will solve that problem for you without the "need" for tight framing.
Shadow areas should still contain detail. You have a little bit in one area, but more is necessary. Some cameras have dynamic range controls which solve this problem and for others reducing contrast or selective postprocessing is the answer. A new plug-in for PhotoShop by Nik Software called Viveza is very good for bringing up detail quickly and easily in shadow areas. I recommend that you try out the demo.

Good shot, my only critique is the brightness in the upper left hand corner of the photo seems to bright, almost as if you need to squint looking at it. Outside of that which is not an issue to correct I like it.
Noted! Thanks for the critiques guys!

from a non-technical perspective i like the shot... in a bad way....it reminds me of how much i hate the snow and how filthy we can be as people.... so from that point the picture is effective....
I love the snow in Huntsville. I have never been there at any other time.Originally Posted by Travis
