2nd shot is lovely
Given the harsh light the 1st shot is actually quite good IMO! Pump up the contrast on the falls big time and burn in the grass at bottom left. Doing those 2 things might well save this image IMO. The rainbow and the flare are not major distractions for me in this case, I'd totally leave them alone.
