Hi,

You should post one photo at a time, I would critique them but they would each need a separate post to do it properly, some I like, some have different issues I think but to break it down and keep flipping between my reply and the photos is for at least me more work then necessary. Posting one photo per critique post is usually the standard way to do it.

A.L. is correct, there is a lot to write for 5 images.I like this set in general. Shot 1 for me is the strongest as the subject's pose and face is very telling.

"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
Well, the first two shots are the best (for me). The third one looks very dramatically. But all seems to be a bit too dark - although I like the little glow treatment.
Nice shots and treatment although we see that treatment or similar quite a bit around here.
For me all the images seem to have some darkness about them that could be lighter. And adversely ... some brightness that could be darker. Guessing the treatment (Orton or similar) has caused this.
The compositions are very good though.
Thanks for the responses so far.
@Mr. Mad ... Yep Orton. I am working on a series of 10 to 15 pictures that give a view on the procession. When trying to come up with a consistent "look", I found that black & white and the "Orton glow" gives something that comes close to the atmosphere I would like to show (dedicated, serene, strong believe, ...). Based on the feedback I am working on versions with lighter mid tones in order to brighten the skin tones.
As a set, these are very nice, and there treatment ties them together nicely.

I agree that the first is the most interesting, and that the darkness is just a tad overdone overall (made more evident by the fact that this is a series). But a promising look here.
