HDR attempt

This is a discussion on HDR attempt within the Critiques forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; I tried to do an HDR of an early morning scene, what do you think?...

    Wow ... what a beautiful scene and composition. But the HDR needs work in my opinion.

    My suggestion would be to open both this HDR version AND the best exposed version you took originally, layer them over one another (HDR on top), and blend some of the original through gently to get rid of some of that halo and perhaps also bring back some contrast.

    Stunning landscape. I quite like it as is, although a bit more contrast may improve it.

    I think a bump in contrast will help. Great image !!! Nice composition. A wall hanger for sure

    Sometimes the colors are quite a bit different to do that..do you have a way to make it "gentle" lol.

    Awesome scenery! I think what's missing from your HDR is tone mapping.

    Oh yes ... layers and masking Use saturation and colour balance and the masking to blend through the original image into the HDR image at a reduced %
    In my world of PP layers and masking are my corner stones
