Hrmmm.. Okay, excellent use of leading lines; they lead you perfectly into the middle of the image, BUT, what do you see when you get there? There's really nothing to hold my attention. Technically the image is fine, 'though the trees on the left could stand to be a half-stop brighter.

This image would work better, IMO, if either (1) There was an object of interest that your eye was lead to, or (2) there was absolutely nothing, say the tracks leading right to the horizon, but as-is, I'm afraid I don't get much from it.

I agree. The Mountains are very nice in the background, unfortunately I get a very claustrophobic feel when I look at them due the the dead end of high trees. Also the power lines are a little distracting.

I'm afraid I have to agree with TI here. This is a snapshot. It's a fine snapshot ... but just a snapshot. Looks like someone walked onto the tracks standing upright and clicked.

When there's no serious focal point it's the angle or point of view that will make the difference I think. Shooting from a low perspective (perhaps letting your feet take this shot would have worked ) might have been the best option here.

I wouldnt say this is a snapshot. It is well composed and situated. And with a little post processing this image could be convincing. I would however say that calling it infinity isn't correct. I understand what you are going for but since the subject ((the tracks)) don't appear to vanish into the horizon, infinity just isn't appropriate. call it like "one third, bezier" or something i dunno. if you wanna incorporate abstract concepts ya know...........

I think you should have shot this one vertically and really low like aussie said. Maybe you could re-shoot and post it to this months assignment which is low point of view.
