Hi Taffy
You have several good things happening here I think. The bright sun light behind the lighthouse really pops it out. The dark wet ground leads the eye right to the lighthouse as do the gentle curves in the clouds and the horizon sloping from right to left. I also like the visual balance. The lighthouse and its light background balancing the darker clouds and grass rise on the right. Well done.
cheers
I agree with EJC. I'd just like to add that I think the lighthouse could be a bit brighter (and possibly a bit sharper) and if it were it would pop harder against the sky which has some similar tones. Hope that helps

Composition is spot on I think for the reasons EJC has stated.
I agree with marko that the lighthouse could be a bit brighter.
I also will add that the sea horizon isn't level and it should be.
I would have processed some more contrast and dramatism into that sky as well I think.
Thanks for the comments.
I will rework in light of the comments and post the "improved" version.

Very nice composition! Pretty much summed up to this point.
If you can go back..I would say go when the sun is coming up from behind you and a really cool sky of clouds and have fun trying it with that light as well!

Well here I go and I don't disagree to be pain either, I prefer the first, second looks washed out, the first is a far more dramatic. I would have just left it. As always just my
