    Default The Poles poll

Went down the beach early this morning and was greeted with a rather ordinary sunrise. Not even a drop of wind to use for March's Assignment either.
However I did shoot this light pole and was wondering which photo people prefer?

This is straight out of the camera ...

Desaturated to give a more pastel feel

    A slight sepia treatment

And finally a Duo Tone filter applied

I think I like the pastel version personally.

Oh c'mon Is it so bad no one wants to comment at all?

At least even that would be a critique

You could have chosen to show any one of the four as they are all “Keepers”. Simple subject, technical excellence, and a sense of being there make this a very nice capture.

I think I prefer the "from the camera" version most.

I completely missed this thread. Its a good picture making the difference between the different versions hard to choose from. The first one is preferred as Barefoot noticed.

You might want to try placing them all side by side to show the progressions a little better. This thread is what I'm referring to by that.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

I like the first one as well! It's the colours that grab me.

I missed this one too - woops.

Cool composition here and very different moods in each shot. Shot 3 and 4 are my faves here; shot 3 wins for me by a small margin.

thanks Marko. That makes 3 out of the 4 liked by someone. A good example of the subjectivity of photography.
