It seems a little dark on my screen. The main light source also seems to be coming just off your left shoulder creating the highlights on her arm and in front of her face. Perhaps you might try turning the doll, diffusing the light, or lighting the doll from the side. It would make the picture more dramatic IMO.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

Thanks JJ, I did have 4 different light sources, 2 diffused. Flash exposure was turned down a little as well. Maybe that should be up a little, it was just the built in flash, I have a 580, will give that ago and post back up.

    Thanks again.

i like the shot too. doesnt appear dark to me.
im not sure if its a rule that applies to dolls as well as human models, but her fly-away hairs are somewhat distracting, and she may benefit from a little brush, spray, or trim to smooth the top of her hair out.
and last tiny nit-pick is that i'd really like to see the rest of her left pupil, if the angle was a bit more frontal...
good photo though! i do like the subject... might look good in sepia, to get the old feel.

Thanks tomorrowstreasures and kiley, will take all those thoughts onboard and take some more shots. Not sure I can do anything with the hair it may fall out if I brush it, but i'll give it a go.

If the next picture you see is bald you will know what happened...

I like the shot as well but also wish it was more frontal.
